Vaulabs develops and manufactures body care and hair care products in Clearwater, Florida. We are a custom formulation manufacturer, which means your formula is developed for your brand in our own laboratory, not selected from a catalogue of existing stock products with your label on the front.

The fill decides more than people expect
Body care and hair care are separated less by what the product is called and more by how it behaves on a filling line. Shampoos, conditioners and body washes are liquid fills. Creams, lotions and conditioning masks are viscous fills that need the right pump and the right line speed. Balms and butters are hot fills that set in the container, and they behave differently again in a jar than in a stick or a tube.
We run low speed fill, hot fill and cold fill across four automated filling lines, with a capacity of more than 400,000 units per month. The practical consequence for a brand is that the texture you approve in a sample is the texture that can actually be produced at volume, because the fill method is decided during development rather than discovered afterwards.
Formulation, not private label
Custom formulation development starts at $1,000 per formula. Benchmark matching, where you bring a product that already exists and we build toward its performance, starts at $1,500. Both include two revisions, a production-ready formula, and a sample shipped to you in the United States. First samples take two to three weeks, revisions one to two weeks.
We want to be careful here, because private label is not a worse choice for every brand. It is faster and cheaper at the start. What it does not give you is a formula that belongs to your brand and a texture that no competitor on the shelf can order from the same catalogue. Neither is simply better; they answer different questions.
Minimums, batch sizes and timelines
Minimum order is 5,000 units per SKU. Production runs range from 5,000 to 50,000 units and above per SKU. A new product takes 10 to 12 weeks from approved sample and deposit. A reorder takes 6 to 8 weeks, because formulation, packaging compatibility and label review do not repeat.
Our quote is one finished price per unit, packed and ready to ship. It is not broken apart into product and packaging. Microbial testing and label compliance are already inside that number. Formulation development, stability testing and dermatological safety are quoted separately, because not every product needs the same set.
Claims, ingredients and testing
Clean beauty is the category we work in, and it is defined in practice by what is excluded and what can be substantiated. We formulate paraben-free, sulfate-free and phthalate-free, and we support vegan, fragrance-free and cruelty-free positioning. Every claim on a label has to survive a regulatory review before it is printed, not after a retailer questions it.
Hair care carries two specific traps worth naming early. Preservation is harder in a product that lives in a wet shower and gets opened with wet hands, so preservative efficacy testing matters more than it does for a cream in a pump. And packaging compatibility is not optional for surfactant systems: a formula that is stable in a beaker can still deform or leach in the bottle you selected. We test packaging with your actual formula before an order for components is placed.
Our facility
Our facility at 2021 Sunnydale Blvd, Clearwater, Florida is FDA-registered and NSF-certified under NSF/ANSI 455-2, certificate C0681369-HSCDS-5, valid through May 27, 2027. Cosmetic production runs in the same facility, under the same quality unit, with the same batch records and release documentation. Certification under NSF/ANSI 455-3, the cosmetic standard in the same series, is planned at our next audit. We are MoCRA compliant and we manufacture in the United States.
