What Vaulabs is

Vaulabs is a contract manufacturer of clean beauty products, operating an FDA-registered facility in Clearwater, Florida. We manufacture skincare, haircare and body care for brands that are preparing for a structured launch, for retail placement, or for scale.

We describe ourselves as a manufacturing partner rather than a white-label supplier. Each engagement starts with the brand's positioning, the retail environment it is targeting, and the regulatory standards that environment requires.

Product categories

  • Skincare
  • Haircare
  • Body care

Formulas are developed from a client brief or reverse-engineered from a benchmark product, using ingredient systems that include peptides, ferments and ceramides.

What is included in an engagement

  1. Discovery and product brief. We review your goals, product type and ingredient preferences, and respond with a proposal within 48 business hours.
  2. Custom formulation. Development from scratch or benchmark matching, with samples and up to two rounds of revisions. R&D fee: $1,000 for custom formulation, $1,500 for benchmark matching. First sample in 2 to 3 weeks. Formula development takes 3 to 4 weeks.
  3. Testing. Microbial testing (TAMC, TYMC, pathogen screening), preservative efficacy testing, stability and freeze-thaw testing simulating 12 months of shelf life, packaging compatibility, and pH, viscosity and sensory checks. Basic microbial and pH or viscosity checks take a few days. Stability and preservative efficacy testing takes 4 to 12 weeks depending on protocol.
  4. Regulatory work. FDA facility registration, MoCRA product listing, INCI verification, label compliance review, claims guidance, and SDS and COA coordination. U.S. label compliance review is included at no extra cost.
  5. Packaging. Sourcing of primary and secondary components from U.S. and international suppliers, compatibility testing with the formula, dielines, Pantone matching, and sustainable packaging options. Label design is an optional add-on at $200 per SKU.
  6. Manufacturing. Production, cleanroom-level filling and capping, labeling and shrink-wrapping, with quality control protocols, batch tracking and release documentation on every batch.
  7. Logistics. Finished goods ship to your warehouse, 3PL, distributor or directly to your customers.
  8. Post-launch support. Cost optimisation, margin analysis, production forecasting and reorder systems.

Volumes and timelines

  • Minimum order quantity: 5,000 units per SKU per custom formula.
  • Pilot runs start at 5,000 units per SKU.
  • Capacity: up to 400,000+ units per month across 4 automated filling lines.
  • First-order lead time: 10 to 12 weeks from production deposit.
  • Reorder lead time: 6 to 8 weeks.

Standards and regulatory position

  • The facility is registered with the FDA.
  • Our facility at 2021 Sunnydale Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida is NSF-certified under NSF/ANSI 455-2 (NSF International, certificate C0681369-HSCDS-5, initially certified May 10, 2022, valid through May 27, 2027). That certification covers dietary supplement manufacturing at the site. Cosmetic production runs in the same FDA-registered facility, under the same quality unit, batch tracking and release documentation. Certification to NSF/ANSI 455-3, the cosmetics standard, is planned at our next audit.
  • We work to MoCRA (Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act) requirements, including facility registration and product listing.
  • Labels are formatted to U.S. FDA cosmetic labeling rules, with correct INCI nomenclature and ingredient order.
  • Marketing claims such as "clean", "vegan", "cruelty-free" and "fragrance-free" are reviewed for accuracy and legal defensibility before they go on a label.
  • Products are formulated to meet Sephora Clean and Credo Beauty standards and are cruelty-free.

Who we are not a fit for

We are direct about this, because a mismatch costs both sides time.

  • Brands looking for a white-label catalogue. We do not sell stock formulas off the shelf.
  • Orders below 5,000 units per SKU. We cannot hold quality and cost at lower volumes.
  • Brands that need finished product in a few weeks. First-order lead time is 10 to 12 weeks from production deposit, and formulation comes before that.
  • Brands that want to skip stability testing on a natural or clean formula. Clean formulas are more sensitive to light, heat and oxidation, and we do not recommend skipping it.
  • Brands that want claims we cannot support. If a claim is not defensible, we will ask you to change it.
  • One-off projects with no intent to reorder. We work with brands building for repeat volume.
